Darrell Roberts is a Chicago based artist represented by Thomas McCormick Gallery, Chicago. Thick strokes of color work as layers that Roberts either reveals or conceals, using the vibrant and gestural language of abstract painting to document the ever-changing and vibrant city of Chicago. The paths of Lake Michigan, the skyline and construction sites in the city are where he draws his influences from. Roberts has a BA in Art History from the University of Northern Iowa, a BFA and a MFA in studio art from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Roberts has exhibited his work at Thomas McCormick Gallery, The Hyde Park Art Center in Chicago, L2Kontemporary Gallery in Los Angeles, Hinsdale Center for the Arts, The Korean Cultural Center of Chicago, University of Northern Iowa, and is in the corporate collections of Forrest Scott Gallery.
Candace Briceño was born in Austin, TX in 1971. Briceño’s studio work is influenced by Texas landscapes – combining painting, drawing, and sewing to create nature-inspired soft felt sculptures. Briceño has exhibited her work at The Austin Museum of Art, Dallas Contemporary, Dunn and Brown Contemporary, Arthouse, Women and Their Work, Mexic-Arte, Mighty Fine Arts in Dallas, The David Castillo Gallery in Miami, @ Space Contemporary in Santa Ana, CA, and Polvo gallery in Chicago, to name a few.
